Information and and comments about Hot Tubs and SpasThe Romans would use cedar hot tubs to melt away their inexhaustible violent tendencies. At the end of a long day, it is said that even the gladiators used to enjoy sitting in their cedar hot tubs! This of course is before the jets that we use today, and the many specifications and accoutrements we are used to in our knotless, perfectly honed wood of today. This is natural. But some things haven't changed. Cedar can expand and hold water just as good today as it could yesterday, and this is a heck of a lot better than plastic. The Japanese like to use cedar hot tubs just as much as Americans do. They as well as us use the ancient methods of barrel making and apply them to their vats of hot water. The great thing about cedar hot tubs is their aromatic properties. Not only do they expand in hot water, but they also smell really good when you get them wet. There is just something magical about this, and it goes really well on the olfactory senses. Cedar hot tubs are also a great product because they can really insulate that hot water! Cedar hot tubs are made nowadays with computers and lasers. This makes the quality particularly high, and the insulation and ability of the wood to expand even higher. Throw in hydrotherapy to your olfactory experience, and feel those jets soothe your tired, arthritic-ridden muscles, and you will be in absolute heaven! I grew up back in the olden days when we didn't even have the cool LED digital displays or the computer automated micro-filter systems. Cedar hot tubs can fit one or two people in the smaller sizes and 6 to 10 people in the larger sizes. The digital controllers will let you know how hot the cedar hot tub should go. My cedar hot tub goes about 44" deep, but my friend's cedar hot tub goes about 48". That extra 4" is actually pretty nice, but it's not how deep it goes but how well you use it! It's also nice to have a hot tub that uses the right screws. My cedar hot tub doesn't have any rust or any of the typical oxidation, because it uses 304L grade stainless steel screws. This is important because when the rain begins to come down, and the salty air from the ocean, you want all the protection you can get! My cedar hot tub is nice and warm and perfect, and the kids can't get in their because I have the 304L screws bolted into the lock to make sure I am always their to administer parental controls. There are 3 types of heaters to choose from for your cedar hot tub: gas/propane, electric, or wood fired. I recommend electric because it is the easiest. All you have to do is plug it in. Make sure to check with your electric company first to make sure you are not violating in of your house specifications. I don't know if I would always trust the dealer of the discount hot tub place, or even the expensive cedar or Japanese style of bath products. It's always best to go with the licensed professional. I prefer cedar hot tubs over plastic hot tubs. I feel like I have enough plastic in my life. Everywhere I turn I see plastic pens and desks. I want something that feels real! At first I thought I might go up to Alaska to build my own cedar hot tub. Actually get a tree and carve it myself like my Roman ancestors. But then I thought, well I may as well just go down to the local discount hot tub store. Boy, and was I glad I did. I found out that the cedar hot tubs can hold water just as good as an old fashioned tub! Cedar hot tubs come in a million different shapes and sizes. There are elliptical orbs, circular structures, rectangles and octagons - you name it. My cedar hot tub is carved on the inside to make an ellipse, which is nice because then you can really lie back in the tub and forget all your troubles and woes in a luxuriant nirvana. I wasn't sure if the staves inside the tub would hold such gargantuan amounts of water, but I soon found that they do, and me and my family can all sit out there watching DVD's on our stereo system! For a long time we didn't have a hot tub cover. And then, we got one. We were given a variety of choices by the Coleman hot tub place, and a variety of colors to choose from. Black, hunter green, espresso brown, dark gray, golden tan, parchment, blue, and red all seemed like good colors for my cedar hot tub. But then I realized that it's not about the color of the hot tub, it's more about the experience of sitting in that hot water without feeling the zap from the hot tub chemicals. But then again, I thought, if I could find a hot tub cover in the color rainbow, that gave me all of the colors, I would finally feel complete! The best kind of hot tub cover is one that is filled with density foam. This appears to be some kind of chemical mixture that fits in between the hot tub covers, with varying degrees of thickness. 4" to 2" or 6" to 4" with varying degrees of pounds (1 or 2 pounds, for example) it is easy to simply upgrade from your old model hot tub cover that didn't save you any money to one that does. If you bought a discount hot tub you may as well get a hot tub cover, a hot tub filter, and the spa chemicals that fit your idea of what it means to have a proper hot tub. Some hot tub covers have drain holes and others don't. Some appear to drain and then dry while others don't. I bought my hot tub with special drain holes. If there was some type of a carriage that allowed me to drain the hot tub and then dry it I suppose I would go out looking for that type of hot tub. It's frustrating to me that my brand new cedar hot tub doesn't even have a cover that drains and dries because there are drain holes that are built right into my cover, so you would think the opposite. Maybe I should upgrade my hot tub cover to something that gives me double my protection because I can't stop thinking about it! I have recently upgraded my hot tub cover to one that allows me to have a 4 millimeter barrier for 10 miles of protection from the elements of nature. This barrier, call it that if you want, actually was upgraded in conjunction with my hot tub leather strap. The strap actually lets me pull the hot tub cover off of the hot tub, or put it back on. I was given a variety of straps to choose from, but none came in rainbow. Between black, hunter green, espresso brown, and dark grey - my final colors, I finally chose parchment because it reminded me of how jealous my neighbors will be when they discover they don't have a hot tub cover leather strap. ![]() |
